Savoring it all
a small musing on life and love
As the year comes to a close, I’m reflecting on this past month, when my mother’s physical body was no longer here, though she remains ever-present. I see her everywhere.
And every day I hopequest.
I go to poemRENOVATION and craft small poems that live in the moment.
For the past three days, the small poems I have crafted from the words of E.M. Forster, Robert Frost, and Iris Tree all seem to speak to one another. Together, they tell a story of loss and grief and love.
my mother’s face all light & promises it shone, her song faraway in another sunlight first step leads to morning — and forever another day knowing, yet oh, come back! fate spins intricate patterns each generation turning with time, multiplying — a complex plan
Noticing. Knowing. Pausing. Wondering. Appreciating. It’s all miraculous.
It’s all a miracle.
In the new year, I’m turning up the volume on my focus. I’m savoring it all. Everything. The loss, the grief, the love. The hope.
